Dr. Wong-Ting qualified with her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degrees from the University of Singapore in 1972 and went on to work as a rotating intern in the University Hospital in Singapore. This is one of the largest hospitals in Singapore and besides being the teaching hospital for the University of Singapore it is also a tertiary referral hospital with a full complement of medical services and a large and busy emergency department. It is also an important medical research centre and is well recognized throughout the world for excellence in clinical medicine and patient care.
She continued working as a Medical Officer at the University Hospital in Singapore until 1974 where she gained much valuable experience. She then decided to emigrate to Canada and arrived here in 1974.
Dr. Wong-Ting worked as a Pediatric Resident at the University of Saskatchewan in Regina from 1974 to 1976 and then subsequently worked as a Pediatric Resident levels II and III at the University of Alberta from 1976 to 1978.
She held a variety of postings in Alberta before joining The Family Medicine Clinic in Fort McMurray, Alberta from 1978 to 2001 where she had a thriving and very busy general practice which included all aspects of Family Medicine.
She then relocated to British Columbia in 2001 and has worked in the White Rock and Surrey areas specializing in Family Medicine.
Dr. Wong-Ting is currently licensed to practice medicine in British Columbia, Alberta and North Dakota, USA. She also holds a number of certifications including Diplomat of the American Board of Pediatrics and is a Licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada. She also has her Federal Licensing Examination United States and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
